Keywords: In this box, you may type the word you are looking for. You can search for things like names, places or events. Match Any Word: If you select Match Any Word, from the pull down menu beside the Keywords box, your search results will contain any of the words entered or any words that contain the words entered. Match Exact Word: If you select Match Exact word, available by left clicking on the match any word menu, your results will contain all the words entered, and will not contain words that are parts of other words Checkboxes: Under the Keywords box, there are four checkboxes, labeled Photos, Maps, Essays, Paper Artifacts and Artifacts. If you place a check in one of these boxes, by left clicking on it with the mouse, the results screen will only display results from that category. For example, if you select the Photos checkbox, only items that are photos will appear in your search results. It is possible to select more then one checkbox at a time. For example, if you selected Photos and Maps, your results would show items entered into the Photos and the Maps categories.   Location Municipality This pull down menu allows you to narrow your search for communities. Once a municipality is selected, only communities from that municipality will be displayed. If 'Select Municipality' is selected, all communities will be available from the drop down box. Community: This pull down menu allows you to search in a specific community. Left-Click the mouse on the box under Community, and a list of all the communities in the database will appear. You may then select a community, by highlighting it with the mouse. Once you select a community, your search will only search give results from that community. You may also search through all communities in the municipality that you have selected, by choosing 'Select All'.   General Search button: Click this button once you are ready to search. Reset: This allows you to reset all of the boxes General Tip: The more information you enter, the fewer results you will get back. If you don't enter as much information, you will have more results to look through.
