Innisfil Historical Society focuses on the preservation and dissemination of the history of the Town of Innisfil. This non-profit group of volunteers attends various community events with displays of books and antiques and prides itself on assisting anyone seeking information about the people and places of Innisfil. Located just south of Barrie, Innisfil includes the communities of S, A, add Big Bay Point etc . Innisfil Historical Society has also gathered historic materials from former Innisfil areas such as Painswick, Holly, Tollendale and St Paul’s. The format for meetings varies, most of which feature a guest speaker. The Society also has "open houses" with displays, working sessions, and an annual bus tour of historical sites in Innisfil. All meetings are open to the public and free of charge.
At Knock School Heritage Site, the Innisfil Document Centre houses a collection of photographic copies of wills, deeds, diaries, newspaper clippings, invoices, minute books, photographs and many more samples of historic interest.
